Major Refit 2021-2022 


Works carried out by Yachting Sports Ltd, Hamble Point, UK.

Stabilisers

·        Stabiliser system: new installation of DMS MagnusMaster x2, under OEM supervision.

Teak Decking, Rubbing Strakes and Exterior Joinery

·        Removed teak plugs from side decks, cockpit and Portuguese bridge; lowered fixings into the teak and re-plugged.

·        Removed caulking from seams; cut caulking rebates fully down to the GRP deck and re-caulked. Seams cleaned back and deck sanded.

·        Replaced worn teak planks as necessary.

·        Sanded back capping rails, removed fittings, replaced worn end caps where needed and plugged unwanted holes; cappings sanded flat and left as bare teak.

·        Reinstated stainless-steel rubbing strakes around mooring cleats and fitted stainless rubbing strake as required to forward section of vessel.

·        Tidied exterior teak generally.

Deck Crane and Davit

·        Deck crane: removed bracket and boom from boat, refurbished and refitted.

·        Replaced 12V deck crane winch and controller and fitted new Dyneema line.

·        Left davit base in place, checked sealing integrity and renewed remote-control wiring.

·        Made good GRP in crane area as required.

·        Made up new top bearing, adjusted height of main leg, made up strops and tested crane.

Plumbing, Fresh Water and Black Water Systems

·        Renewed shower drain pumps; supplied and fitted small shower curtains and rails.

·        Replaced galley 220V sink macerator.

·        Supplied and installed holding-tank level gauge.

·        Reinstated disconnected salt-water deck wash system; new pump unit located in forward heads compartment.

·        Checked all electric bilge pumps, replaced as required and refurbished manual bilge pump.

·        Updated fresh-water pipework as required; twin pump system installed with duty / standby operation.

·        Removed and replaced all black-water / sewage pipework from the vessel; removed inspection hatch from holding tank, cleaned tank and checked over: OK.

·        Installed new macerator pump and wiring; renewed all associated valves.

·        Installed two new 12V fresh-water-flush Tecma toilets.

Heating

·        Installed Kabola 14kW HR oil-fired central-heating boiler and wet radiators to serve all interior spaces.

·        Fitted five wet radiators: three wall-mounted in the saloon and forward companionway, two flush-fitting units in cabins/heads, and plumbed towel radiator in master cabin heads.

·        Installed blower system to wheelhouse for heat and window demist.

General Interior, Exterior and Machinery Items

·        Serviced doors, locks and catches throughout interior and exterior.

·        Modified flybridge companionway door to improve weatherproofing.

·        Cleaned bilges; sanded and repainted where required.

·        Replaced all deck hatches with new Lewmar hatches.

·        Re-bedded all portlights and refurbished as needed.

·        Completed gel repairs around the boat as required.

·        Repaired damaged teak-and-holly cabin sole in forward cabin.

·        Lowered engine-room floors to allow more headroom.

·        Added stainless-steel hoop support under forward engine-room deck hatch surround.

·        Serviced windlass and refitted to boat; flaked out anchor chain.


Recent Improvements: Post-Refit, 2022–Present

·        Rear camera to helm position.

·        Port and starboard docking-assist cameras installed with display on ship’s PC.

·        Fuel polishing and transfer system installed.

·        Remote-control web-based camera fitted to wheelhouse.

·        12V searchlight fitted to wheelhouse roof in 2024.

·        Supplied and fitted 1100Ah house battery set.

·        Manufactured and installed new storage locker to forward cabin.

·        Supplied and installed new Raymarine Magnum 4-foot open-array radar.

Previous Fleming Refit and Historical Works Since 2012

The following historical work record has been retained to preserve the vessel’s documented maintenance and refurbishment background. Historical notes such as “not yet fitted” are retained only where they appeared in the original record and should be checked against the current inventory.

1.   Exhaust removed and cleaned out; full engine and generator service.

2.   Supplied and fitted complete set of hinges and handles throughout boat with current model.

3.   New TV cabinet from Fleming supplied and fitted for saloon.

4.   Two chairs.

5.   Checked 220V wiring throughout and replaced all sockets with new current model; new compliant socket and breaker in engine room.

6.   Fitted new 220V LED lighting in engine room.

7.   Rebuilt starboard engine starter motor.

8.   Complete set of batteries replaced summer 2013.

9.   Re-upholstered flybridge seating.

10. Compound-polished entire boat.

11. Applied four coats of high-grade wax to boat.

12. Various GRP repairs.

13. Rebuilt drains on aft deck overhang with channels running to deck level.

14. Removed forward cabin liner and side deck panels to rectify leak into forward cabin from foredeck; leak traced to perished foredeck drain hoses, both sides replaced.

15. Perished side-deck drain hoses replaced both sides.

16. Perished aft-deck drain hoses replaced.

17. Sanded all decks to good finish; stainless-steel fittings still to be recessed into sanded deck; foredeck requires replacement.

18. New Kahlenberg air horns fitted.

19. New tonneau cover.

20. New dinghy cover.

21. New covers for all side windows and wheelhouse screens.

22. New flybridge and console covers.

23. All wheelhouse windows re-sealed.

24. Wheelhouse door frames re-sealed.

25. Both engines stripped down and repainted.

26. New hoses fitted to engines and wiring tidied up.

27. Engines and gearboxes serviced summer 2013.

28. Boat lifted; all old antifoul soft-blasted off to original gelcoat finish; left to dry and seven coats of International Epoxy coating applied as preventative measure strictly in accordance with manufacturer temperatures and overcoating times. One hard coat of antifoul in white and two eroding coats in black applied.

29. Repainted bootstripe.

30. Cleaned all hull fittings out and clear varnished; replaced all hoses and double-clipped.

31. All new wheelhouse and saloon upholstery.

32. New-style stainless-steel pedestal for helm seat fitted.

33. Mirrors fitted on fuel tanks to see outboard side of engines more easily.

34. Engine-room camera installed and fitted to Raymarine screen.

35. Generator overhauled and rewound.

36. Fire system in engine room fully serviced and new manual override and pull fitted in wheelhouse and saloon.

37. New fire extinguishers throughout interior (historical note in original record: not yet fitted at that time).

38. New six-man canister liferaft with hydrostatic release (historical note in original record: not yet fitted at that time).

39. Replacement navigation equipment: Simrad VHF, Raymarine E-series 10kW open-array scanner and plotter, and backup GPS by chart table.

40. New 40-inch LED Sony TV fitted in saloon cabinet.

41. Intellian i3 satellite TV unit with Sky decoder fitted.

42. New Glomex terrestrial digital TV antenna fitted.

43. Sony PlayStation / Blu-ray player fitted.

44. New Alpine DAB radio/CD player fitted in wheelhouse with new three-way speakers.

45. Water-damaged teak on wheelhouse steps replaced.

46. Water-damaged teak on saloon aft doors replaced.

49. Engine exhaust removed from boat, re-glassed and re-installed.

62. Saloon and accommodation brass lamps refinished and chromed throughout.

63. New saloon and wheelhouse wall lamps fitted.

64. New showers fitted in both heads, including all plumbing.

65. New granite worktops fitted in both heads.

66. New sinks and taps in both heads.

67. Two new water pumps fitted with changeover valve, one as backup.

68. Fresh-water tanks cycled with pumped citric acid for two weeks to thoroughly clean them.

69. Seagull water-filter system fitted in galley.

70. All bilges cleaned out and repainted.

71. New foredeck fitted and existing deck re-plugged where required.

72. Fresh-water hose connected on aft and foredeck fittings.

73. New hoses for holding tank.

74. New liferaft and extinguishers fitted.

75. Generator exhaust hose replaced as it was quite perished.

76. Generally re-sealed exterior joints to tidy up.
